Bruno Lucchesi is perhaps best known for his smaller figures and is genre sculptures, but he also does major, large commissioned pieces. His sculptures have been added to the collections of the Whitney Museum of American ARt, The Brooklyn Museuem, the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, among others. He has received awards from the National Academy, which elected him Member in 1975, the National Arts Club, and the Architectural League, and he was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1962-63. Bruno lives in New York.

Wow, what a book. I have been searching for the right book to help me build a human body that looked believable in sculpture and this is the one. Lucchesi creates the form by first creating an armature, then building a skeleton onto it (ribcage, pelvic girdle, etc.), then adding the muscles, then adding the skin. A must for anyone who would love to sculpt anatomy like Rodin and Michelangelo. Lucchesi's head book is just as good.
Leider kann ich dieses Buch nicht empfehlen für Leute, die Figuren oder Puppen aus Polymerclay modellieren wollen. Mich hat das eher an ein Anatomiebuch für angehende Ärzte erinnert. Da werden genau die Knochen, Sehnen und die Muskeln Stück für Stück genau anmodelliert. Vielleicht geeignet für Kunststudenten.
